About Taj Mahal – The Taj Mahal at Agra is an example of this land’s enchantment with love and creativity. The shimmering White marble monument is a symbol of perfection, and fires the imagination of millions worldwide.
Story of Taj Mahal – It is said that Shah Jahan mourned the loss of his beloved in private and when he emerged, his beard and hair had turned white. His love and its loss created this beautiful tear drop on the face of time and one can’t help but marvel at its beauty. It took 22000 workers 17 years to complete the Mosuleum and by the end of it, the treasury was all but finished, leading to a rebellion within the family for power, where Aurangzeb, the youngest of his sons, killed all his brothers and ascended the throne only to imprison Shah Jahan in the Agra Fort, from where he would look at Taj Mahal, some distance away through a small mirror, as his sight was failing. He died in love and finally found himself buried next to his beloved in the same Taj Mahal.
Travel Season: October till March is the best time to explore this 7th Wonder of the World.
